Prostatitis – is an inflammatory disease of the prostate, or prostate cancer, as a purely male organ, which is located below the bladder.

This gland is often called the "second heart", because it is responsible for many important functions in the male body.

Prostatitis is one of the most common diseases. In the UNITED states, for example, the number of cases of prostatitis is eight percent of all urological diseases.

Why do I need prostate?

The prostate gland performs the following functions:

  • produces a liquid, maintaining the liquid part of the semen,
  • converts testosterone into its active form – dihydrotestosterone,
  • together with the muscles of the bladder neck forms internal sphincter, which controls the urination,
  • participates in creating the feeling of an orgasm.

The first signs of prostatitis

The symptoms of prostatitis: frequent and unbearable urge to urinate, burning and pain during urination, difficulty urinating, feeling of incomplete emptying of the urinary bladder, pelvic pain, groin pain and back pain.

When it begins to prostatitis?

In one form or another prostatitis occurs in nearly half of men after the age of 30. But can appear in young people still at 18-20 years of age.

The factors that provoke the development of prostatitis:

  • chronic hypothermia,
  • the non-emptying of the bladder,
  • violation of the rhythm of sexual life (long periods of abstinence, the irregularities),
  • frequent changes of sexual partners, unprotected sexual contact,
  • sedentary life-style, the caller infringement blood and lymph circulation in the pelvic organs,
  • diseases of the genitourinary system,
  • infectious diseases,
  • the smoke and the alcohol,
  • injury,
  • hormonal disorders,
  • the improper functioning of the immune system.

The types of prostatitis

Acute bacterial prostatitis is caused by the defeat of the prostate tissue pathogens: escherichia coli, pseudomonas, Proteus, Klebsiella, staphylococcus aureus.

Many of these bacteria – representatives of the microflora of the healthy human body, that lives on the skin and in the intestine.

Penetrating into the tissue of the prostate, which, however, are able to trigger the inflammatory process. Often the bacteria enter the prostate from the bladder or of the urethra.

The error symptoms:

  • fever and chills,
  • pain in the area of the prostate, groin and back,
  • increase in the frequency of stimuli to urinate, difficulty and pain during urination, feeling of incomplete emptying of the bladder, blood in the urine,
  • painful ejaculation,
  • decreased libido and erection quality due to syndrome of severe pain and intoxication of the body.

In the presence of at least one of these symptoms, immediately consult a doctor. Acute prostatitis requires urgent diagnosis and treatment.

Chronic bacterial prostatitis sometimes becomes a consequence acute.

Its appearance can also be caused by injuries of the genitourinary system, catheterization of the bladder, or infection in other organs.

The error symptoms:

  • frequent need to urinate,
  • pain and burning during urination,
  • pelvic pain, perineum,
  • night the need to urinate,
  • difficulty urinating,
  • the presence of blood in the semen,
  • painful ejaculation,
  • small increases in body temperature.

Symptoms of bacterial prostatitis develop gradually and often periods of exacerbation alternate with calm. Delay the appeal of the doctor is not possible: this disease requires qualified treatment.

Chronic abacterial prostatitis can cause a number of factors:

  • lifting heavy objects with a full bladder (which can happen a range of the urine in the prostate),
  • spasm of the pelvic muscles, leading to an increase of the pressure in the prostate,
  • disorders anatomical in the urogenital system, for example, a narrowing of the urinary tract,
  • constant danger of prostate lesions.

The symptoms are similar to the symptoms of chronic bacterial prostatitis. The differences are only recognised when the laboratory test to identify the infection.
